Before the pandemic and quarantine, I used to require class members to visit a location of historical significance and write about it both from a factual basis and a personal basis. I have kept that format in the syllabus for you to review. However, in view of the new realities of the world, I have modified the requirement for the paper and have listed them here. You can choose options 1, 2, or 3; just let me know what you decide. If I can help you in any way, just contact me. There are three options for you to choose from; in no particular order:
a) Have you visited a location within the last 4-5 years? If so, you can write about that visit. You don’t need photos as that is strictly optional on your part.
I will choose option A, last year I visited my friend in Maryland with my family and we drove into D.C. and we visited the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial.
In your paper, include a paragraph or two about that slavery existed in America until The Civil War.
