War is said to be the ultimate failure. War takes place when other options have failed. We look at a changing world. Population growth in the developing world is leading to tremendous expansion of urban areas and remarkable environmental challenges. In the “rich nations” aging is an emerging reality that requires tremendous resources…especially in the realms of healthcare. Food production for the global population seems to need ever greater mechanization leading to collapse of rural communities. The old ways are not possible given the real challenges facing the world, yet many refuse to accept the changes that might allow a more secure future. How does the inter-relatedness of these and other social problems create great risk of war and great potential for new avenues of healthy relationships?
